| Product Description | This differential cover is not just a cover that increases the amount of oil, it is a functional part that makes the LSD work. It was developed to solve the strength and heat problems of the entire differential case, which are the drawbacks of RX-7 and 8. Because of the tight transmission tunnel and the shape of the muffler and rear bumper, the differential case of the RX-8 makes it difficult for the running wind to hit and escape, so the differential temperature is chronically high, and the case rigidity is weaker than that of the FD3S. As a result, the case tends to open sideways, resulting in poor side bearing preload and blade contact. This will raise the oil temperature. A large capacity differential cover eliminates these weak points. ■ A return service hole is provided so that a new oil cooler can be installed. ■Increase the amount of oil by about 750cc (early RX-8) and fins to stabilize the oil temperature. *The aluminum drain bolt in the photo is not included. The average thickness of the genuine product is about 3 mm, while this product is 5 mm on average, and the parts that require strength are made thicker than 10 mm. • The genuine cover is attached to the 11 mm hole with a 10 mm full screw (actual diameter is around 9.4 mm, strength 8), but the highly rigid differential cover is attached to the 10.2 mm hole under the neck. 10.1mm•strength 12 screws (10.1mm where the thread is not cut) bolts are used to install and replace the 8 dowel pins. By increasing the rigidity of the entire differential case and stabilizing the initial torque of the differential by preventing it from dropping, the temperature rise rate of the differential oil will be lower and the life of the differential oil will be longer (initial torque). drop = oil temperature rise). |
